3 Things to Do While Visiting Oahu

If you have been following along with our blog for any amount of time then you probably know how much we care about making sure that people have the facts. More often than not, we share facts about how bail bonds work. We know all too well that people come to us without much of an idea about what to expect when they need to get in touch with a bondsman. This makes sense, of course, because there’s no need to know the ins and outs of a system that you don’t ever expect to have to use. Couple this with the fact that the legal system can be rather complex, and it’s no wonder that people aren’t sure about what to expect.

Not to worry though, because a quick look at our blog archive is sure to answer any questions you may have. We strive to provide our clients with the most accurate information possible, and we work hard to make certain that we go in-depth on the questions that we get asked the most. You deserve to know what you can expect, and that’s exactly what you’ll get from the team at Wanna Get Out Bail Bonds on Oahu. Have a question you don’t see answered? Feel free to contact us any time because we’d be glad to help make sure you have the information you need.

So now that you know that we’re your source for information about all things bail, we thought we’d make a special post this time around that’s a little bit out of the ordinary. We’re located on the island of Oahu, specifically in Honolulu, and as you’re probably well aware even if you’ve never been here, it’s a beautiful place that’s full of amazing things to do. In today’s post, we’d like to share three of those things. This just scratches the surface, of course, but it ought to give you a good start. Keep reading to learn more!

Looking for Something to Do on Oahu?

Piggy Smalls

First and foremost, we’d like to share a recommendation for food. If you’re visiting Honolulu, there’s a good chance that you are already thinking about where exactly you’ll be eating. This makes sense because for many people, the highlight of traveling is getting to try new restaurants. Fortunately for you, we have a great recommendation if you enjoy Vietnamese food. There are plenty of great options, but our suggestion for today’s post is that you visit Piggy Smalls.

Located on Ala Moana Boulevard, Piggy Smalls offers a unique take on the classics. Their Banh Mi Sandwiches are beloved by many, with a highlight being the Pho-Strami Dip which is a combination of all-day smoked brisket with pho and pastrami spices, toasted and pickled mustard seeds, sriracha and lime onions, their “super awesome sauce,” and a side of pho broth. It’s out of this world, but you’d have a hard time going wrong with anything they offer from the garlic noodles to the duck bolognese.

Pearl Harbor

People also often like to get an up-close look at historical sites when they are visiting new places, and Honolulu is full of history. Perhaps the most famous bit of history for most people is Pearl Harbor. As you probably know, the USS Arizona was bombed on December 7, 1941 — nearly 77 years ago to the day, as of the time of this blog post.

One important thing to note is that according to the National Parks Service, tours of the USS Arizona are on hold until March of 2019 when repairs will be completed. In the meantime, “visitors will be taken on a 30-minute narrated harbor tour of Battleship Row and the area around the USS Arizona Memorial.” Open seven days a week, trips to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center at WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument are always popular. Our advice is to visit in the morning — the earlier you can go, the better — because it will get busy very quickly.

First Friday Honolulu Art Walk

If you’re looking for something to do that’s a little bit out of the ordinary, why not take advantage of the First Friday Art Walk in Honolulu? As its name suggests, it takes place on the first Friday of every month, so if you find yourself visiting during that time of the month, please trust us when we say that this is something that you most definitely want to come and enjoy.

But what is it, you ask? Hawaii.com sums it up rather perfectly: “Known as ‘First Fridays,’ since the event is held once each month on the very first Friday, this monthly celebration sees downtown Honolulu and its adjacent Chinatown come alive in a display of community fun, creative art exhibits and exciting entertainment.” There is also plenty to eat and drink, making this an event that caters to pretty much everyone out there. If you make the time to enjoy one of these events, you’ll be treated to memories that will last a lifetime!
