In our previous blog, we highlighted a few of the strangest crimes we’ve come across recently. You see, the team at Wanna Get Out Bail Bonds in Oahu thought that we had personally heard of some pretty strange crimes, but once we started doing our research, we realized that the stories we have heard are actually pretty tame in comparison.
We highlighted a crime involving a man who attempted to break into an undercover police car and another story involving the theft of multiple manhole covers over a relatively short period of time. Those do sound pretty odd indeed, but they’re nothing compared to what we have to share with you in part two. If you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seat, then this post is for you! Keep reading to learn which strange crimes will make the cut.
The Case of the Missing Driveway
According to an article on Gizmodo, “a woman named Michelle Wright returned home Tuesday night and found her driveway missing.” This story was originally reported back in 2012, but it’s a strange one nonetheless! They go on to note that when Wright pulled up to her home, “she felt a huge bump where a driveway should have been.” The story goes on to note that witnesses saw people digging things up while she was gone.
That’s not all, however! The Huffington Post reported in the same year the story of Rachel McCarty who experience the exact same thing! Upon pulling into her driveway, she noticed that “the 200 paving bricks that had previously been used to make her driveway were gone.”
Both driveway thefts occurred in 2012 in Florida and no suspects have been arrested.
The Alligator in the Drive Thru
In another story about a strange crime committed in Florida–we swear the focus on Florida is a coincidence!–a man threw an alligator through a drive thru window at a local restaurant. The story from WPTV notes that “officials say 23-year-old Joshua James pulled up for his order and after a server handed over a drink and turned around James reached into the back of his truck and tossed the 3-and-a-half foot gator through the drive-thru window.”
They go on to note that James “faces charges of aggravated assault and unlawful possession and transportation of an alligator” which sounds like one of the strangest things we’ve ever heard.
